2025年6月7日・8日に開催される神戸大学移住・移民研究センター（KoMiReC）の「クィア・マイグレーション・シンポジウム」での自由報告を下記の要領で募集します。

本シンポジウムは、クィア移民・難民の多様で複雑な経験や、移民研究、国境管理の研究におけるクィア的視点の影響について、批判的な視点や実践から議論することを目的としています。移住・移動は人類の歴史において中心的なテーマであり続けています。移動をめぐる現象や移動する人々の経験は、不均衡な権力関係の影響から切り離すことができません。クィア・マイグレーション研究（Queer Migration Studies）は比較的新しい研究分野ではありますが、ここ20年で学際的な批判的研究として発展し、人の移動に関わる研究における異性愛規範やシスジェンダー規範を問い直してきました。本シンポジウムは、日本国内外の研究者や実践者をつなぐ学際的なプラットフォームとして、新旧の研究や実践を交差させる対話の場を提供します。

自由報告は、以下の分野を含む理論的研究および実証研究の学際的なアプローチからの研究・実践に関わる発表を募集します。―移民研究、批判的難民・強制移動研究、気候変動と人の移動、エコロジカル・フェミニズム、国境・境界研究、歴史、文学、視覚芸術・映画、モビリティ研究、保健・健康、フェミニスト地政学、カルチュラル・スタディーズ等。

また、通常の研究報告の形式に限らず、アートを用いた表現での発表も歓迎します。

テーマ例：

• クィア移民、強制移動をした人々の経験や移動の軌跡
• 移動とセックスワーク
• ジェンダー化された市民権、性的市民権、クィアな移動を規制する政治的・法的枠組み
• 移住、強制移動、帰属に関するトランスジェンダーの人々・コミュニティの視点・実践やその理論的アプローチ
• クィア・マイグレーションに関する文学、メディア、芸術実践（視覚・パフォーミングアーツを含む）
• クィア・マイグレーションのアーカイブ研究とその社会的・政治的・法的文脈
• クィア・マイグレーションとデジタルな空間・文脈における不平等
• クィア移民に関するアクティビズム、連帯、葛藤

自由報告の内容は以上にあげた分野・テーマに限定しません。

• 所属機関（あれば）
• メールアドレス
• 発表希望言語（日本語または英語）
• 結果は 4月上旬までにお知らせします。

Call for Presentations

The Kobe Migration Research Center (KoMiReC) invites submissions for the Queer Migrations Symposium 2025, a two-day event dedicated to exploring the theme of queer and trans migrations. This symposium seeks to examine innovative and emerging perspectives, advancing our understanding of the diverse, complex experiences of queer migrants and refugees as well as the impact of queer approaches to researching migration and bordering 

Migration has long been a central theme in human history, shaped by unequal power dynamics that influence migratory experiences and subjectivities. Over the past two decades, queer migration studies have developed as a critical transdisciplinary field, challenging heteronormative and cisnormative frameworks in migration research. This symposium provides an interdisciplinary platform to engage with new and established scholarship and engaged practices from Japan and across the world, fostering dialogue across a range of disciplines. 

We welcome both theoretical contributions and empirically informed submissions from the following fields, as well as interdisciplinary approaches: migration studies, critical refugee studies, interdisciplinary praxis, climate change migrations, ecological feminisms, border studies, migration histories, literary studies, visual arts and film, mobility studies, health studies, feminist geopolitics and cultural studies. We also welcome contributions that do not fit the classic format of academic presentations, including arts-based submissions.

Potential areas of focus may include but are not limited to the following:

- the lived experiences and trajectories of queer migrants, displaced people, and (internal) border-crossers, including migrant sex workers;   

- gendered and sexual citizenship and the political and legal frameworks governing and constraining queer mobilities; 

- trans perspectives and theoretical approaches to migration, displacement, and belonging;

- queer migrations in fiction, media, and aesthetic practices, including visual and performing arts;

- archival research on queer migrations and their socio-political or legal contexts;

- digital perspectives on queer migrations and algorithmic inequalities;

- activism, solidarities, and frictions

Format and Submission 

-Presentations may be delivered in English or Japanese. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words in English or 600 characters in Japanese, clearly outlining the theme, focus, methodology, and key arguments/contributions of your proposed presentation.

Please also indicate a title, author name(s), institutional affiliation(s)- if any, a preferred presentation language (English or Japanese), and email address. Submissions must be completed through the online form below no later than 31 March 2025.
